SEC Fines Michigan RIA Over Mutual Fund Conflicts

The SEC continues to go after advisory firms over conflicts of interest related to mutual fund fees.

Late last week, the agency announced Sigma Planning Corp. will pay $2.5 million to settle charges it chose mutual funds for clients that gave the firm financial benefits but did not disclose the conflicts to investors.
